St. Louis Magazine’s A-List, 2010

St. Louis Magazine's A-List, 2010

Yesterday we were privileged to attend St. Louis Magazine's A-List party at Maryland Plaza in the Central West End. It was absolutely amazing. We were greeted with valet parking and a red carpet. Along the red carpet were four new Mercedes Benz cars. A little further down, was a white tent that housed an ice sculpture that contained refreshments. On top of the tent was a woman dressed in a white, stylish outfit, who was moving very elegantly inviting the visitors with her skillful gestures.

Passed the red carpet, a fountain surrounded tables, lots of people, and tents all around. Notably, there was another dancer standing in the middle of the fountain. Her outfit was wired to the fountain in a way that her hands sprinkled water into the pond, much like a statue.

Many restaurants were present with their signature dishes and entrees, such as Bailey's Chocolate Bar, Bridge, Lumiere Place's SLeek, Four Seasons' Cielo, River City Casino's Lewy Nine and The Great Food Exposition, Shiver Vodka & Champagne Bar, The Ritz-Carlton, and many more. The samples you got to try were very generous and after about three or four, it was desert time, but don't be fooled, I had more fancy dishes after the deserts. I can't even remember what I all tried, but it was fantastic!

After being stuffed with goodies, we went over to the VIP area where DJ Raven Fox was mixin' and chillin'. They had really comfy sofas and also a bottomless bar. In addition, they had a fan there circulating the air. If there's anything I can say about the weather, is that it was quite humid and hot, but luckily it didn't rain as first expected.

After relaxing in the sofa and chowing down many more appetizers -- one of them was shrimp, that I remember -- and a few drinks later, we moved on to the Mandarin Lounge, a hot St. Louis night club. They had an outside terrace up top that overlooked the entire event. We were gazing down at the masses who were all having a great time.

We spent another 20 minutes upstairs and then decided that we had seen everything and now would be as good as any time to slender on home. After all, I have to be at work the next morning.

It was a great evening and I can't wait for next year. Only 364 days to go!
